Biography


Ana Grattone was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1948 and since adolescence was attracted to the plastic arts and poetry.

Initially a self-taught artist, studying drawing and painting and working in various workshops in Buenos Aires and print making with the Maestro Bernado Di Bruno.
She studied Theatre Set with Maestro Saulo Benavente in the Planeta Theatre in Buenos Aires.

She has participated in courses and meetings with the Municipal Hall Buenos Aires and the National Women's Hall and the role of culture in Ministry of Culture of the Province of Buenos Aires.
She also studied Art in the City, Moron, and attended the first international Ceramics and Allied Arts.

In 1989 received mention in the Chamber Academy of Lunfardo Poem Illustrated in Buenos Aires.
In 1996 she received mention in the IV Biennial Visual Art Faculty of Architecture of the University in Moron, Buenos Aires.

She has been a therapist with the Visual Expression Workshops, working with patients with psychological difficulties, and mask workshops with deaf children in Buenos Aires.

Since 2001, Ana has been living in Barcelona where she continued dedicating herself to painting and writing, holding her first exhibition in 2004.

She has participated in Civic Notebook “La Vanguardia” which publishes the best poetry submitted. And in 2008 at the Center d’Art d’Escaldes Engordany Andorra and also in the Salon of Painting at the College of Physicians Barcelona.

She is the author of a children’s story book, “La Tristisima” Buscadora de Sueños creating paper mache characters.

Ana’s work is in collections throughout Argentina, Europe, and Ireland.
